Alberta Economic Development Authority - AEDA

Alberta Economic Development Authority encourages the economic growth and long-term prosperity of the province through a unique partnership between the Alberta government and the province’s private and public sectors.

The Authority’s network of business, academic and municipal leaders provides strategic advice and recommendations to the Premier and Cabinet on key business issues.

How Does AEDA work:

It brings together 65 private sector volunteers from across the province -- a network of business, academic and municipal leaders -- to study issues, consult with experts, debate ideas and make recommendations to the Alberta government on ways to strengthen the province’s economic performance.

AEDA has five standing committees and an Executive Committee that focus on key economic sectors and the issues that impact those sectors. The committees also deal with longer-term economic development strategies.

AEDA has created opportunities for business owners and leaders to share ideas, expertise and best practices to support continued economic growth and Alberta’s long-term prosperity.

The Authority provides large and small business a direct working link to the Alberta government and strives to ensure industry’s voice is heard when public policy is developed.
