Alberta Research Council Inc. - ARC

The Alberta Research Council Inc. (ARC) is a key instrument for achieving the Government of Alberta's strategic innovation agenda. ARC provides research and development services to advance research priorities important to Alberta, as well as technical and commercialization support services to enhance the competitiveness and success of Alberta companies. It does so in collaboration with other partners such as universities, colleges and industry.

Summary

Alberta Research Council Inc. (ARC) develops and helps deploy innovative science and technology solutions for the benefit of Alberta.

ARC's strength and reputation are built around ongoing scientific and technical excellence, which is delivered through investments in high-impact strategic initiatives. The programs are focused on a narrow technology with a sustained effort of 15 years or more.

ARC also offers technical services to help firms and government departments and agencies meet their short-term requirements for testing, problem solving, and product/process development.

The corporation is structured into three technology development centres to deliver strategic initiatives and technical services.

ARC's primary customers and partners are public and private companies in strategically important sectors - that through their success contribute to the growth of the Alberta economy. Approximately 600 employees operate out of four locations in Alberta - Edmonton, Calgary, Devon and Vegreville.
