Alberta Foundation for the Arts

The Foundation exists to fund, encourage, and support the development of arts as a valuable contributor to quality of life in Alberta, and to maintain and expand the AFA art collection as a strategic resource for all Albertans.
The purpose of the Foundation is to:
- support and contribute to the development of and promotion of the Arts in Alberta;
- provide persons and organizations with the opportunity to participate in the arts in Alberta;
- foster and promote the enjoyment of works of art by Alberta artists;
- collect, preserve and display works of art by Alberta artists; and
- encourage artists resident in Alberta in their work
The AFA Board is responsible for the disbursement of grants, prizes, and competitions, as well as the acquisition, exhibition, and preservation of art.
The grant programs of the AFA serve every region of the province, help to enhance the economic and social status of the province, and contribute significantly to Albertans' quality of life.
