Supplier Tips

Avoiding vendor problems: one of the best ways is to meet with suppliers face-to-face. Personal contact builds relationships which allow you to evaluate how well you work together. Possible signs of trouble in a supplier company include the departure of key employees and the late arrival of shipments without explanation. Less obvious clues are frequent change of accountants, lawyers and financial institutions. If you become suspicious about a particular vendor, ask for audited financial statements. If they refuse, be careful with the terms in your agreements or find another source. For more tips, see Selecting Your Supplier
