Inventory of Major Alberta Projects

The Inventory of Major Alberta Projects is produced by Alberta Finance and Enterprise to assist firms in identifying potential supply opportunities.

The Inventory lists major projects in Alberta, valued at $5 million or greater, that are planned, underway, or have recently been completed. While efforts have been made to obtain the most recent information, it should be noted that projects are constantly being re-evaluated by industry. Although the Inventory attempts to be as comprehensive as possible, some information may not be available at the time of printing, or not published due to reasons of confidentiality.

1. This inventory lists projects in Alberta valued at $5 million or more that have recently been completed, are currently under construction or are proposed to start construction within two years. Not all projects over this threshold are listed, due to reasons of confidentiality and/or information not being available at the time of printing.

2. Project data is obtained from public information sources. Where possible, this data has been verified with the project proponent / developer. Users of the Inventory may wish to confirm project data with the proponent / developer.

3. The Inventory does not break down project expenditures by any given year. The cost of a project is the value of expenditures expected over all phases of project construction, which may span two or more years.

4. The cost of projects listed in the Inventory are estimated values only.

Projects are categorized in the following sectors: Agriculture & Related, Chemicals & Petrochemicals, Commercial / Retail, Commercial/Retail and Residential, Forestry & Related, Infrastructure, Institutional, Manufacturing, Mining, Oil & Gas, Oilsands, Other Industrial, Pipelines, Power, Residential, Tourism / Recreation.

New projects and (where possible) updated information on current projects will be added to the Internet database on a monthly basis. Check out the Inventory of Major Alberta Projects.
