Home Inspection Business Regulation
The Home Inspection Business Regulation comes into effect in Alberta this September. Any business engaged in providing home inspection services to consumers in Alberta must be licensed as of September 1, 2011. The individual home inspector will also require a license but there is no fee.

Entrepreneur of the Month
Peter Dowd was talking to his friend, Sean of Mighty Trio Organics, who cold presses organic oils and has seed meal as a by-product. As an organic gardener for 30 years, Peter thought of turning this material into fertilizer.
He created Seed and Sea organic fertilizer, and then realized he needed assistance with trademarking and actually getting his business going. Sean had been a client of The Business Link and recommended that Peter contact us.

Minimum Wage Increase
The Alberta minimum wage will increase from $8.80 to $9.40 per hour effective September 1, 2011.
